The Bible calls it the “public reading of scripture.” Moses started it, Jesus did it, and Paul urged the Church to never stop doing it. Each Friday, we gather in a nursing home to read scripture aloud in service to our elders who receive few visitors, suffer from dementia, or struggle with vision impairment. If you join us, you can expect to bring your Bible, open it, and read it out loud. Nothing more complex than that!
